Auxerrois is a white grape that is more common in France, Alsace, but it is also grown in Germany (Obermosel, Pfalz and Baden).

Auxerrois originates from a mixture of the Heunisch and Pinot. The Auxerrois is in comparison to the Pinot fuller, fruity and has less acidity.

It is assumed that the Auxerrois grape started to be grown at the Mosel around 1816. At least it is the earliest that there have been found any evidence of the grape.
